Multi-language labelling — corporate merch in Italy
Italian + English + DE / FR / ES variable-data labels for pan-European campaigns: care symbols on textiles, allergen panels on food gifts, country-of-origin "Made in Italy", and recipient name personalisation — handled in one SKU.
Multi-language labelling — short answer
Each item ships with a label-pack containing Italian (required by Codice del Consumo) and English plus optional DE / FR / ES / NL for cross-border distribution. Variable-data print attaches recipient names, hire dates and personal messages. Mandatory EU labels (care, washing, allergens, country of origin) come as standard.
Detailed FAQ — multi-language labelling
What languages are required by Italian law?
Italian is mandatory for consumer goods sold in Italy under the Codice del Consumo (D.Lgs. 206/2005). All hazard, care, allergen and warranty info must be in Italian. Other languages can be added but cannot replace Italian.
How do you handle pan-EU distribution?
Multilingual hangtags (IT/EN/DE/FR/ES/NL) for textiles, multilingual leaflets for electronics, multilingual ingredient panels for food. Local language always first, others alphabetical. Print methods: laser etch on metal, screen print on fabric, digital on paper inserts.
Variable data per recipient?
Yes — variable-data printing for recipient name, hire date, employee number, custom message. Lead time +1–2 days. Supplied via a clean CSV; we validate against character limits and font availability.
Care symbols on textiles?
ISO 3758 care symbols (wash, bleach, tumble, iron, dry-clean) printed or woven into the inner label. We also add fibre composition (% cotton, % polyester) and country of origin per EU Regulation 1007/2011.
Allergen panels on food gifts?
EU Regulation 1169/2011 (FIC) compliance: 14 mandatory allergens highlighted in bold, ingredients in descending order, nutrition declaration per 100 g, country of origin if not obvious. Italian + English at minimum.
"Made in Italy" labelling?
Yes — "Made in Italy" on items genuinely manufactured in Italy (D.Lgs. 135/2009 rules apply). For items finished but not produced in Italy, we use "Decorated in Italy" or "Personalised in Italy" to avoid misleading claims.
Braille / accessibility labelling?
Available on request — pharma gift kits and inclusive merch. Embossed Braille labels per ISO 17049 with up-charge of 0.5–1.5€ per item depending on volume.
How are labels priced?
Standard 2-language hangtag included up to 250 chars. Each extra language: 0.05–0.15€/unit. Variable data: 0.20–0.50€/unit. Multilingual leaflets folded inside the box: 0.25–0.80€ depending on pages.
Italy-specific labelling notes
Codice del Consumo (D.Lgs. 206/2005) makes Italian language mandatory on consumer goods labels; EU Regulation 1007/2011 governs textile fibre composition; EU Regulation 1169/2011 (FIC) governs food labels. For B2B gifts to employees the consumer rules do not formally apply but most clients still want Italian + English on every label as best practice. SdI invoice references the GTIN of each labelled SKU when relevant.
